Genesis Chapter 11 ..."And the LORD said, Behold the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do."

I am not creating this blog for the purpose of claiming any preferred status in Biblical interpretation ...yet, often we can find application, as problems are not so varied that they are totally unique unto themselves.

I also believe it is healthy to laugh at our problems ...but, only if it is our problems (not laughing at the struggles of others); and only if we can learn from our mistakes by correcting them and moving on.

It is with this intent that I am going to attempt to inject humor ...and I say, attempt ...as I do not blame any of you who may say, "failed attempt"

The younger generation has on many occasions seen the older generations as priding themselves with a full grasp of the art of exaggeration ...and if we have influenced the upcoming generations in any way at all, we may have impressed them in this area. Likewise, the youth have come up with a few of their own ...and in reading this (if they leave their tower for a moment or two) they may dismiss it as merely an "epic fail"

But, though we should bridge gaps and make friendships, let us not make a huge mistake of labeling other people as a failure, simply because we may fail to understand them.

I agree with those who label my Dad's generation, The Greatest Generation.  War is not a pleasant thing, and it is often best to avoid ...but, who could idly stand by and watch the horrors without getting involved??  Many sacrifices were made to defeat the evil that was exploding throughout this world.

I may be babbling a bit myself, but there does seem to be somewhat of a parallel here.

The quote from the Book of Genesis refers to a time not too long after Noah & his family were spared the Great Flood.  How often today do we come together as one ...with one language??

That would be Twitter language, texting, Facebook, social media ...and a bunch of fake news.  I'm not talking about the typical use of the phrase "Fake news", referring to the governmental politics of reporting the happenings of today.  I'm talking about the fake news in support of evolution, and the other slant of reporting things believed to discredit the Bible.

If someone mentions an unpopular belief, they are often met with a barrage of defensive statements.  "But, that's unacceptable ...that's politically incorrect!" At least that is what I hear. Yet, since when does political correctness, which is seldom ever correct, set the standard??

Many people have a resolve to believe what they believe ...yet, political correctness does not give license to decide what can be bashed, and what offends.  And no person should feel unabashed while doing the offending ...nor should anyone claim, on the other hand, to be so easily offended that they cannot even listen to reason or another point of view.

Yet, there seems no turning back from this wayward thinking that is so quickly communicated through those 'towers' which allow us the connection between our handheld devices (which seem to become vices). These devises largely become a life support system that we draw our sustenance from, almost like a human umbilical cord.

And whether on a computer, or iPhone ...we depend upon those towers to become one with one another. There is a degree to which the information can be useful, but the facts are not always hard facts ...and they are often laden with an emotional bent which dictates how we should feel.  And these little breaths of inaccuracy much too often exhale angst, bitterness, enmity, or hostility.

So, what do we do with all of this???

It's really up to us.

Well, that is because God gave us freedom of choice.

Yet, that only goes so far ...and how God deals with all of that, is in reality, not decided upon by our opinions nor how we emotionally feel about it.

God decides.

And truthfully ...that gives me great comfort.
